Overview

Geolux RSS-3-150CS is a FMCW radar detector operating in K-band. Very robust design and low-power consumption with the ability to locate and track both static and moving objects make RSS-3-150CS ideal for various outdoor applications. Detected objects are reported over Ethernet interface with speed, distance from the radar, angle to the radar and size estimate for each detected object separately. UDP-based protocol, TCP-based protocol, HTTP REST API and web-based user interface are all available. In addition to the Ethernet communication, serial communication (RS-232 or RS- 485) and additional two configurable open-collector alarm outputs can indicate detected intrusions and system status.

Support for ONVIF protocol enables direct connection with PTZ camera over Ethernet link. The radar can automatically point the PTZ camera towards the detected object.

Radar Configurator Software

RSS-3-150CS radar sensor has integrated web-based utility for configuring radar operation and monitoring detected targets. To use the web-based configuration utility, simply connect the radar to the Ethernet network, and type its IP address to your web browser. The default IP address for RSS-3-150CS radar is 192.168.1.120. Take care that, when conecting the radar to the Ethernet for the first time, your local Ethernet network must be in the same subnet (addresses starting with 192.168.1.x).

Using a web-based user interface provides maximum flexibility, since the users can connect to the radar and configure it from any platform (Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS). Preferred web browsers are Chrome and Safari.

THE RADAR CAN BE EXTENDED TO MATCH YOUR APPLICATION

We offer several extension modules like zigbee,GPS ,special mounting brackets for the device, and more can be added on your request. Let us know about your application!

Perimeter Security

Geolux RSS-3-150 CS radar sensor is an ideal extension for existing and new perimeter security systems. It can detect intrusions similarly to PIR sensors and microwave barriers. The advantage of using RSS-3-150 CS over PIR sensor or microwave barrier is greater coverage area and the ability to report precise intrusion location. The threat locations provided by RSS-3-150 CS can be used to automatically control the PTZ cameras toward the detected threat, so that the detected threat can be visually analized and classified by the security guard.

Smart City Lighting

Energy-efficient smart cities optimise street lighting on streets with low traffic volume by dimming the street lights – or turning them completely off – when there is no traffic present. Many streets with low traffic volume during the night can experience high energy savings, and light pollution is also highly reduced. Geolux RSS-3-150 CS radar sensor is an ideal traffic-presence detector for such smart city lighting systems. It enables the lighting system to gradually dim up the street lights as the vehicle approaches, thus reducing the flash effect on the driver.

Border Control

Border control applications require various detectors to warn the patrol officers of potential intrusions within the border zone. Infrared and thermal cameras, seismic detectors and radars are all used in a border-control system. Geolux RSS-3-150 CS radar is an ideal, extremely cost-effective short-range radar sensor for border control. Optional ZigBee connectivity and low-power consumption even allow for temporary ad-hoc installation at critical (hot-spot) border points.

Your Custom Application

Does your application require a reliable sensor for detecting movement within a specified area? Let us know your requirements, and our engineers will work with you to customise the RSS-3-150 CS radar so that it fits your application. Most recent example of RSS-3-150 CS customisation is its use by Global Ski-Pic company in their equipment for automatic photo capturing of skiers on ski resorts.
